Maurice André ist gestorben

26.02.2012 Der französische klassische Trompeter und Musiklehrer Maurice André (Bilder) ist gestern in Bayonne, Frankreich, gestorben. Er war 1933 im südfranzösischen Alès als Sohn einer Bergmanns-Familie geboren worden. André trat seit Jahrzehnten oft und gern auch in der Schweiz auf.

"Maurice André wurde in der südfranzösischen Stadt Alès geboren. Als Vierzehnjähriger begann er eine Lehre als Bergmann im Kohlerevier der Cevennen, erlernte aber gleichzeitig das Spiel auf der Trompete. Sein Vater, selbst Bergmann, ermöglichte ihm erst einmal privaten Unterricht bei Prof. Barthélemy am Conservatoire de Paris, das Maurice André aufgrund seiner ausserordentlichen Begabung bald als Student aufnahm. Im ersten Jahr bereits erhielt er den 1. Ehrenpreis für Kornett, ein Jahr später für Trompete."
