DIE BRITISCHE SCHRIFTSTELLERIN FAY WELDON IST GESTORBEN

04.01.2023 Die am 22. September 1931 in Alvechurch (Worcestershire) als Franklin Birkinshaw geborene britische Schriftstellerin Fay Weldon (Bild) ist am 4. Fay Weldon obituary: Shrewd, mischievous and outspoken

Fay Weldon was a sometimes controversial feminist, a prolific novelist, and a woman whose own life not only informed her fiction but sometimes sounded like the plot of a lurid novel.

Fay Weldon obituary

Novelist and screenwriter whose tales of women taking control of their own destinies included The Life and Loves of a She-Devil

The novelist Fay Weldon, who has died aged 91, was to an unusual extent the creation of her own extravagant imagination. A polemicist whose opinions shaped themselves around the plot of her latest book, a pragmatist who giggled her way through every sentence, she was mischievous and evasive, yet wilfully and wittily life-affirming.
