31.08.2024 Der am 6. August 1971 in New York City als Isaac Freeman III geborene US-amerikanische Rapper, Hip-Hop-Produzent und Radiomoderator Fatman Scoop (Bild) ist am 30. August 2024 in Hamden (Connecticut) gestorben. Fatman Scoop ist vor allem durch seine Remixe für verschiedenste Künstler bekannt geworden. Seinen Durchbruch schaffte er zusammen mit Faith Evans und dem Lied "Be Faithful", dem Remix ihres Liedes "Love Like This" von 1999, welches 2003 Platz 1 in Grossbritannien und Irland erreichte. 2005 war Fatman Scoop auf "It's Like That" von Mariah Carey und auf "Lose Control" von Missy Elliott und Ciara zu hören. Fatman Scoop, ‘Be Faithful’ Rapper, Dead at 53

The artist born Isaac Freeman III was transported to a hospital after suffering a medical emergency while onstage during an August 30 concert in Hamden, Connecticut. On Saturday morning, Freeman’s tour manager Bryan “DJ Pure Cold” Michael announced on social media that the rapper had died. No cause of death was provided.

“I am honestly lost for words,” Michael wrote. “You took me all over the world and had me performing alongside you on some of the biggest and greatest stages on this planet, the things you taught me have truely made me the man I am today.”

The hip-hop artist’s talent agency MN2S confirmed his death to Variety on Saturday. A cause of death was not disclosed.

“Scoop was a beloved figure in the music world, whose work was loved by countless fans across the globe,” MN2S CEO Sharron Elkabas said in a statement. “His iconic voice, infectious energy, and great personality made an indelible mark on the industry, and his legacy will live on through his timeless music.”
