Als Lehrerin an der Designschule Central St Martins in London förderte sie die Karrieren von Modeschöpfern wie Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Jonathan Saunders und Christopher Kane, aber auch von einflussreichen Personen, die hinter den Kulissen der Bekleidungsindustrie oder in den Werkstätten internationaler Modehäuser arbeiteten. Nun ist Louise Wilson, eine der einflussreichsten Figuren der internationalen Modeszene, am 16. Mai 2014 im Alter von 52 Jahren überraschend gestorben.

She is known for having sculpted the careers of Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane and Stella McCartney to name but a few.
One of fashion's most influential figures, she was the longstanding director of the college's MA fashion degree and had a reputation for pushing her students to their creative limits and producing some of British fashion's most well known names, including Jonathan Saunders, Roksanda Ilincic and Mary Katrantzou. Her direct, formidable teaching style was renowned throughout the industry.
Fashion industry figures called her a "legend" and a "genius".
