Paul Herman, ‘The Sopranos’ and ‘Goodfellas’ Actor, Dies at 76

Paul Herman, the character actor best known for his role as club owner Peter “Beansie” Gaeta in “The Sopranos,” died Tuesday. His “Sopranos” co-star Michael Imperioli confirmed the news in an Instagram. He was 76. A cause of death has not been announced.

Herman’s representative T Keaton-Woods confirmed his death, sharing with THR the following statement from The 5 Management company:

"We are deeply saddened at the loss of our beloved Paul Herman. A true character on and off screen. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and we will always remember the sound of his laughter and bold spirit."

Auftritte als Gangster

Herman wurde vor allem durch seine Auftritte als Gangster in Filmen wie "American Hustle" oder "Goodfellas" berühmt. Zu sehen war er außerdem in den beiden Filmdramen "Crazy Heart" und "Die Farbe des Geldes" sowie im US-Krimi "The Irishman", zusammen mit Robert de Niro.
