04.08.2023 Der am 26. November 1939 in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) geborene US-amerikanische Schauspieler Mark Margolis (Bild) ist am 3. August 2023 in New York City gestorben. Eine seiner bekanntesten Rollen ist die in dem Film "Scarface" von Brian De Palma als Fahrer Alberto. Bekannt ist Margolis auch durch die Zusammenarbeit mit Darren Aronofsky: Er ist in Aronofskys Filmen "Pi", "Requiem for a Dream", "The Fountain", "The Wrestler", "Black Swan" und "Noah" zu sehen. Aronofsky schrieb die Rolle des Father Avila im Film "The Fountain" speziell für Margolis. In jüngerer Zeit hatte Margolis mehrere Gastrollen in verschiedenen Fernsehserien. Besondere Bekanntheit erlangte er durch seine wiederkehrende Rolle in "Breaking Bad" als Hector Salamanca. (*)

His career spanned decades and included such signature roles as the former drug kingpin Hector Salamanca in "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul".
Margolis also was known for many film roles, particularly in the films of Darren Aronofsky: "Noah," "Black Swan," "The Wrestler" and "Pi." He also played Alberto "The Shadow" in "Scarface." Other film roles included "The Thomas Crown Affair," "Gone Baby Gone," and "Stand Up Guys."
