26.05.2022 Der am 18. Dezember 1954 in Newark (New Jersey) geborene US-amerikanische Filmschauspieler Ray Lotta (Bild) ist am 26. Mai 2022 in der Dominikanischen Republik gestorben. Einen Namen machte er sich 1986 mit "Something Wild" (Gefährliche Freundin) von Jonathan Demme und 1989 mit der Rolle des Shoeless Joe Jackson in "Field of Dreams" (Feld der Träume). Bekannt wurde er durch die Hauptrolle in Martin Scorseses "GoodFellas – Drei Jahrzehnte in der Mafia" (1990). Es folgten Hauptrollen in einigen Actionfilmen wie "Flucht aus Absolom" (1994) und "Turbulence" (1997). Daneben übernahm Liotta Nebenrollen in Produktionen wie "Cop Land", "Hannibal", "Blow", "Narc" und "Identity". Für seine Darstellung des todkranken Charlie Metcalf in der Folge "Time of Death" der Fernsehserie "Emergency Room – Die Notaufnahme" erhielt er 2005 einen Emmy für "Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series".
