11.06.2022 Der am 26. Mai 1932 in Port Said (Ägypten) geborene weltweit bekannte israelisch-US-amerikanische Karikaturist und Journalist Ranan Lurie (Bild) ist am 8. Juni 2022 in Las Vegas (USA) gestorben. Er war Mitglied der United Nations Correspondents Association und Herausgeber des "Cartoon News"-Magazins. Die CartoonistInnen-Vereinigung Cartooning for Peace bezeichnet Lurie als den "weltweit am meisten publizierten Cartoonisten." 2002 wurde er für den Friedens-Nobelpreis nominiert. Ranan Lurie erhielt unzählige nationale und internationale Preise und Auszeichnungen.

The beginning of his career was punctuated by military duty in Israel, but he quickly carved a niche for himself in the United States.
He works for the largest Israeli newspapers such as "Daily Hador", "Tavel" and "Yediot Aharonot".
Ranan is the most published cartoonist in the world. He was nominated for the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize and has received 22 national and international awards.
